California is a state located on the West Coast of the United States. Its capital is Sacramento. California is the 3rd largest state in the United States in area, after Alaska and Texas. In California, as of 2009, the U.S. Department of Defense had a total of 117,806 active duty service. Additionally, there were a total of 57,792 Reservists and Guardsman in California. California’s military forces consist of the Army and Air National Guard, the naval and state military reserve (militia), and the California Cadet Corps.

Army and Navy Academy
Army and Navy Academy is a college-preparatory boarding school for boys of 7-12th grade. The Academy was founded by Thomas A. Davis on November 23, 1910. California Maritime Academy
The California Maritime Academy is one of only seven degree-granting maritime academies in the United States and the only one on the west coast. It is located in Vallejo, California. The university offers six different Bachelor’s degrees, and one Master’s degree, but no Doctoral degrees. Cal Maritime offers one graduate and six undergraduate degrees, all of which are tied to a nautical curriculum. The graduate program is a course of study in business and management fundamentals combined with specialized preparation for career advancement in Engineering, Transportation, or Humanitarian Disaster Management. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. There is no armed service obligation attached to graduation from the California Maritime Academy. However, financial aid and additional career opportunities exist for those students who choose to participate in any of the several military programs available on the CMA campus. Cal Maritime has a long history of athletic activities as well.
Franklin Military Academy
California Military Institute is a publicly funded charter school located in Perris, California. It is for students of 7-12 grade. It is a school for girls and boys. They believe in educating, training and inspiring the Corps of Cadets so that each cadet becomes a recognized leader of character dedicated to the values of honor, courage and commitment and is prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the community and Country.
All CMI cadets will participate in coursework stressing fundamental core subjects. Cadets will attend courses in subject areas of language arts, mathematics, history, reading, science, foreign languages, military science and physical education and give tests on each.
Oakland Military Institute
Oakland Military Institute (OMI), formally the Oakland Military Institute College Preparatory Academy, is a charter school affiliated with the Oakland Unified School District in Oakland, California. They aim at providing a rigorous training in academics as well as athletics to the students. The school’s cadets are members of the California Cadet Corps. There are elective classes for students to build leadership and self-development qualities in them. OMI offers a variety of support services to help all children achieve to their highest potential. They believe that a military structure provides important foundations for success in life.
Massanutten Military Academy
Massanutten Military Academy (MMA) is a coeducational college preparatory school for 7 to 12 grades and one postgraduate year, located in Woodstock, Virginia, United States. The cadets are given individual attention towards academics as well as athletics. MMA has been ranked as no 11 in the state of Virginia by the 2015 Private schools list. MMA’s Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) is consistently recognized as an Honor Unit with Distinction. MMA builds team work skills and leadership qualities through their sports and academics.
St. Catherine’s Academy
St. Catherine’s Academy is a Catholic military school located in Anaheim, California. It was founded in 1889 by The Dominican Sisters of Mission San José. This school is especially for young women only. The mission of St. Catharine Academy is to prepare young women in the Mercy tradition for college success, leadership and engagement in the world community.
