St. Catherine’s Academy is a Catholic military boarding school only for boys, located in Anaheim, California. Established in 1889 by the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose, the school has a rich and inspiring history to offer. On March 25, 1989, the school started as an academy for girls only, with eleven resident and nineteen-day students. However by August of 1889, the number increased to 13 resident and 47-day students. In 1925, the school changed its name to St. Catherine’s Military school, as male teachers and military based education was introduced for boys. The school continues to be a military based education facility and finally in 2010, the name was changed to the current St. Catherine’s Academy. Most of the buildings were constructed during the early 20th century; the history of St. Catherine’s Academy still continues to attract many tourists and visitors round the year.
