Valley Forge Military Academy & College (VFMA&C) located in Wayne, Pennsylvania is a niche Military training institution. Objective

History

valley forge military academy Logo Valley Forge Military Academy was established in the year 1928. The man who conceived this prestigious institution was Lieutenant General Milton G. Baker. The academy was initially founded in Devon, Pennsylvania. Within five months, the location was shifted to Wayne. During the academic session of 1935-36, a two year college program was incorporated. The academy was thereafter named as Valley Forge Military Academy and Junior College. After a series of uniformed personnel as heads of the institution, today the reins of the academy are in the hands of Stacey R. Sauchuk, the first woman president of VFMAC.

Campus

The academy covers an enormous area of 100 acres. The beautiful landscaping of the campus makes it an ideal venue for an enriching educational experience. The chapel of St. Cornelius the Centurion, and the two halls namely the Eisenhower and Mellon Hall add to the aesthetic beauty of the institution. The May H. Baker Memorial Library renders an apt environment for cadets to gain intellectual stimulation and conduct research work independently. For sound physical development, the cadets have access to incredible facilities housed in the Price Athletic Center and the Athletic Fieldhouse.

Admissions
VFMAC invites applications of students who are physically agile and have the drive to take on the duties of a cadet. Students desirous for admission are required to submit their SSAT or ISEE scores. International candidates are required to attach their TOEFL scores. Once the admission is secured, medical examinations form an important part of the enrolling procedure. The institution provides grants, financial aids and scholarships to deserving students as well.

Academics

The academic programs are segregated into three domains namely the Middle School, the Buff & Blue Experience and the Pre-College Experience. The strength of the class is deliberately restricted so as to provide individual attention to each cadet. The facilitators believe in imparting effective education by direct interaction. The cognitive faculties are stimulated with a challenging academic environment and curriculum. There is frequent communication and guidance from the facilitator’s end. The faculty of the school includes highly qualified teachers. The aim is to prepare cadets to carve a niche for themselves beyond the gates of the academy and be worthy leaders of tomorrow.

The authorities believe that each cadet ought to be alert and fit in body and mind. The academy provides its cadets the opportunity to nurture their sport aptitude in football, soccer, rugby, basketball, wrestling, swimming and much more. The school objective is to put forth an integrated physical development program that helps cadets to gain muscle strength, flexibility, and stamina. The academy holds membership of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association.
