Military Schools In Rhode Island

Rhode Island, officially the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, is a state in the New England region of the United States. Rhode Island is the smallest in area, the eighth least populous, but the second most densely populated of the 50 US states. The capital of Rhode Island is Providence.

Because Rhode Island’s population barely crosses the threshold for additional votes in both the federal House of Representatives and Electoral College, it is well represented relative to its population, with the eighth-highest number of electoral votes and second-highest number of House Representatives per resident. Based on its area, Rhode Island even has the highest density of electoral votes.The Rhode Island economy had a colonial base in fishing.

Rhode Island has two professional sports teams, both of which are top-level minor league affiliates for teams in Boston. The Pawtucket Red Sox baseball team, of the Triple-A International League, are an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.

From its beginnings, Rhode Island has been distinguished by its support for freedom of conscience and action: Clergyman Roger Williams founded the present state capital, Providence, after being exiled by the Massachusetts Bay Colony Puritans in 1636.Rhode Island, smallest of the 50 states, is densely populated and highly industrialized. It is a major center for jewelry manufacturing. Electronics, metal, plastic products, and boat and ship construction are other important industries. Non-manufacturing employment includes research in health, medicine, and the ocean environment. Providence is a wholesale distribution center for New England.

Naval War College (NWC)

Naval War College LogoThe Naval War College (NWC or NAVWARCOL) as the name suggests is an education institute that educates and creates leaders who will form the future Navy officers. This college primarily focuses on variety of roles of the Navy and about their vision and mission. It helps in strengthening the global maritime partnerships and supports combat readiness.

The founder of the college is Stephen B. Luce. He was a young Lieutenant and was asked to teach people about the navy responsibilities and train them to be the upcoming army. This occurred when the Naval Academy was shifted to Newport Rhode Island as there was American Civil War going on.

This college currently works under the president ship of P. Gardner Howe, III, who is an alumni of the college of 1984 batch. He previously commanded various warfare units and was highly efficient for the assigned work.

This course follows trimester pattern. For the first two semesters, some international students of Naval Command College join the NWC students for seminars and lectures. Also every student has to enroll for an elective subject of his or her choice in every trimester. Few deserving students are permitted to get a knowledge of naval warfare studies which is an advance R&D program. These being a highly secured program, only the well-deserved and performing candidates are provided with the opportunity.NWC is big platform that even focuses on extra activities and athletics for physical fitness of the students which is the future navy.
